Hessonite is one of the varieties of gem of the garnet mineral, grossular. It is generally cinnamon brown and is also called as cinnamon stone. The orange color of hassonite is very common in the gem market. The gem quality of the hessonite is found in Sri Lanka, Brazil and California.
