Germany is undoubtedly one of the greatest
football nations of the world. They are three times FIFA World Cup
Champions (1954, 1974, 1990). Except for the inaugural 1930 World
Cup and the 1950 tournament, the team has played in every FIFA World
Cup finals.
The German team first claimed the trophy in 1954, by defeating the
clear favourites Hungary 3-2 in the final. 20 years later they won
their second title on home soil beating Holland by 2-1. In 1990
again they won the title against Argentina by 1-0.
