Delhi is all set to host its first ever Commonwealth Games from October 3, 2010 October 14 2010. The national capital of India is putting in every effort, to make the games a grand success. With advanced basic infrastructure, a lot of emphasis has been laid on improvising the look of the city, with newly developed hotels, new means of transportation, hospitals, redesigned airport and much more. The venues for Commonwealth Games have also undergone a renovation & beautification process. Apart from this, a human force of over one lakhs is ready for volunteer purposes. Tickets
The tickets for CWG 2010 can be booked by three different ways :
1) The website www.tickets.cwgdelhi2010.org
Go to www.tickets.cwgdelhi2010.org and select the sport of your choice. Enter the number of tickets you need for as many sports as you wish to. Fill in the payment details form and book your ticket. Upon successful payment, the ticket will be booked and you will be redirected to a confirmation page. You have an option of getting the tickets couriered or self pickup (the tickets can be redeemed at the select retail outlets from 25 August 2010).

2) Call Center numbers 1800 102 1294 or 1800 200 1294
Call the Commonwealth Games 2010 helpline numbers and ask fro tickets booking. All you need is a credit card by which payment will be made. Provide the delivery address where you wish the tickets to be couriered. After booking you will get a transaction number for future reference.

3) Retail Outlets
You can get your tickets for Commonwealth Games 2010 from authorized outlets of Central Bank of India, Hero Honda motors and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. You will have 2 options of after booking your ticket. The tickets can either be couriered at the designated address at the time of booking or can be redeemed on the basis of an E-voucher through select retail outlets.

Games Village
For accommodation of players during the Commonwealth Games - Delhi 2010, a world class games village has been constructed on the banks of river Yamuna. Spread over an area of 63.5 hectare (158.4 acre), the Games Village 14 blocks, 34 towers and 1,168 air-conditioned flats to comfortably accommodate 8,000 athletes and team officials. A wide range of apartment types ranging from two to five bedroom units (each with ensuite facilities) is available. Besides this, the village also has training Areas for Athletics, Swimming , Weightlifting, Wrestling and a Fitness Center. There are also provisions for temporary structures like an International Zone, Village Operation and Support Areas.

Some interesting facts on Games Village :

Games Village will be open from 23 September to 18 October, 2010. During the games onlu players, officials & media persons can access the village.
Situated amidst dense green natural cover on the eastern bank of river Yamuna.
Accommodation for 8000 athletes and officials.
34 residential towers having 1,168 air-conditioned apartments offering 4008 rooms.
Comprises the Residential Zone, International Zone, Training Area, Main Dining, and the Operational Zone.
The Village also has facilities such as a shopping centre, saloon, a bank and two swimming pools.
VIP lounges, a post office, plaza, bar and an informal dining area also provided in games village.
Seating arrangement for 1,086 people in training area. The training area comprises of an eight-lane track, state-of-the-art gymnasium as well as a separate throwing area.
Two free transport system for athletes and team officials in Games Village - the Internal Village Shuttle (movement inside the village) and the Bus Service (movement outside the village).
Team Welcome Ceremonies will take place at the Ceremonial Plaza, located in the International Zone to welcome athletes for CWG Delhi 2010. The ceremony will be held for all 71 teams according to protocol and Indian traditions.
Games Village is a No Smoking zone and has adopted many measures to uphold the motto of green games like in-house waste water treatment, sulphur-less diesel for generators, solar energy-based lighting and water heating etc.

Media
International and national media personnels will enjoy a privileged stay at New Delhi's top hotels. The Commonwealth Games organizing committee has arranged Executive Rooms, Superior Room. Standard Rooms, Suite and Deluxe at top hotels like Ramada Plaza, The Hans, Radisson Hotel Marina and Janpath. He price may vary ranging between INR 7,500 to INR 10,500, depending upon the choice of room.

Volunteers
An enthusiastic army of volunteers is ready to support the organizing of first ever Commonwealth Games on Indian soil. Tagged under the name of ?Delhi United?, the CWG ? Delhi 2010 volunteer team will take care of each and every aspect of this international event. Basic colours of the volunteer's uniforms are vibrant red and contrasting white. Lower track has a red base with white stripe on the sides with Delhi 2010 word mark . The polo 'T-shirt' has a white base and a red patch work with the Delhi 2010 logo and word mark.

To distinguish the roles of various volunteers, polo 'T-shirt' of sports specific volunteers have been given a blend of yellow color on the patch. In case of medical volunteers white color will be more pre-dominant.
