Tezpur is town located in the state of Assam state in India in North-East region. The city of Tezpur is situated on the banks of fast flowing river Brahmaputra. If Guwahati, the capital of city of Assam, is considered as the economic centre then Tezpur is known as the cultural capital of Assemese population which has also been the birthplace of many renowned personalities of India, namely Somnath Chatterjee (Speaker of the Indian Parliament) and Dr. Bhupen Hazarika (Veteran Singer also known as the Golden Voice of Assam).
