The most noted thing about Barog is its beauty that just refuses to fade away. The enchanting scenic look at night comes with the stillness of the peaceful yet captivating view of the sunrise over the trees and mountains. The station is build up in gothic architectural style - adorned with a red roof, a veranda with wooden pillars and railing decked with bright blue, white and planters hanging from the ceiling - makes Barog more beautiful. The comfortable wooden benches on the spotlessly clean platform, neatly trimmed hedges along the track, and the small fountain in front of the solitary rooms only enhance the scenic splendor of the station.
Around Barog
Dagshai : Dagshai developed into a well-established cantonment with a large jail, the foundation stone of which was laid in 1846. Here freedom fighters, mutineers and foreign law-breakers were interned and sentenced to rigorous imprisonment.
Dolanji Bon Monastery : 5 km from here on Narag-Sarahan road, located a famous Bon monastery known 'Yungdrung Bon Monastery' being run by Yungdrung Bon Monastic Centre. This was founded in 1969 by the Abbot Lungtog Tenpai Nyima.
Karol Tibba: This place has historic value as pandavas lived here during their agyatvas period 2 hours trek from the resort takes you to this wonderful place and ideal visit for nature lovers.
Climate
Solan is a bracing hill station throughout the year but hotter as compared to Shimla. At the time of summer in Solan, cotton clothes are recommended as the temperature rises to 35 Celsius and light woolen to heavy woolens are required in winters as the temperature dips to -2 celsius.
