Simbalbara Wildlife Sanctuary

Sirmaur---Land of Natural Beauty
An important tourist destination of Himachal Pradesh, Sirmaur is located on the lower hills of Indian Himalayas. At a distance of 16 km from Paonta Sahib, the district of Himachal Pradesh, Sirmaur is a well known pilgrimage center of Sikh community. Besides its shrines this little town is also famous for its lakes, wild life parks and sanctuaries. Besides many attractions, Sirmaur is also a famous adventure site preserved as a Simbalbara wildlife sanctuary that gives scenic as well as picturesque view of the valley. A famous wildlife sanctuary, which is situated in the vicinity of Sirmaur district, attracts huge number of tourists for trekking and other activities.

Major Wildlife Attractions in Simbalbara Sanctuary
Simbalbara sanctuary is located in Paonta Valley of Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh. Situated on the lower hill of Shivalik ranges in Indian Himalayas, Simbalbara wildlife Sanctuary provides shelter to animals like Goral, Sambhar, Chittal, Spotted dear and many more distinct animals. Travel & Tourism department of Himachal Pradesh have taken all the efforts to preserve this sanctuary in its natural form. surrounded by Sal forests with grassy glades providing several treks for trekking. Amidst enchanting view of the valley tourists can enjoy long walk alongside the continuous stream. For best scenic experience and enjoyment tourists can visit Sambalbara Sanctuary between the month of October and February. For the comfort and convenience of tourists the Himachal Pardesh government have build a rest house near the wildlife,that comprises of all sort of facilities and amenities.



Other Attractions
Apart from the main attraction, the splendid landscapes of Sirmaur district also comprises of century old temples, beautiful lakes and parks. The Paonta Sahib Gurudwara is one of the main pilgrim centers located in the surroundings of Sirmaur District. Renuka Lake is another scenic beauty located at a distance of 42 km from Nahan, sheltering species like black bear, barking deer, goral, jackal, leopard and many other distinct variety.

How To Reach
Sambalbara Sanctuary can be reached via road through Nahan (42 km), Paonta Sahib (16 km) and all the other major cities of Himachal Pradesh. Private taxi and state government bus services are available from Sirmaur district. Tourist have to cover few distances by walking also.
