Ranchi Museum: The Ranchi Museum has a rich collection of tribal artifacts, tools and coins from excavations in the state.
Hundru Falls: Just 45 km away from Ranchi are the Hundru Falls. These are formed by the fast flowing River Subarnarekha as it plunges down a cliff. It is a popular picnic spot. Other popular waterfalls in the area are Hirni Falls, Dassam Falls and Jonha Falls.
Rajappa Mandir: This temple is dedicated to the Goddess Kali also known as Chhinnamasta and is located 65 km from Ranchi. Around the temple there are some good picnic spots.
Surya Temple: 38 km from Ranchi, Surya temple is known for the intricate carvings and beautiful idols. Other temples of importance include Dewri temple and Bhawani Devi Mandir.
Jain pilgrimage center: A major Jain pilgrimage center, Shikharjee or Parasnath temple in the Giridih district, 200 km from Ranchi, is known as the place where 20 Trithankas attained salvation.
Ramakrishna Mission: It is located in Ranchi and attracts many tourists.
