Formerly known as Cochin, Kochi is one of the top tourist destinations of India. Queen of the Arabian Sea, Cochin is the commercial and industrial capital of South Indian state, Kerala. Kerala's prime tourist destinations spread across islands and promontories in a stunning location between the Arabian Sea and Backwaters. Its main sections: modern Ernakulam in the east and the old districts of Mattancherry and Fort Cochin on a peninsula in the west are linked by a complex system of ferries.

Cochin has an enormous range of restaurants, offering reasonably priced food and drinks. You can eat out quite cheaply in Cochin but if you have more expensive tastes, then there are number of well known restaurants. Shopping
The Mahatma Gandhi (MG) road is today a main commercial district. A bustling shopping center where you can buy all kind of goods. Many airline offices, hotels, restaurants, and movie theatres are along this road. The Marine Drive and the lively GCDA Commercial Complex along the water front features a variety of shopping malls.
