Mangala Devi Temple The beautiful temple, built in traditional Kerala style architecture is 15 Km from Thekkady. It lies 1337 m above sea level and is hidden in the lush green hilltop. The temple is open to the visitors only on the festival of Chaitra Purnima. Necessary permits have to be taken from the forest department to see the temple on a normal day. Peermede Peermede used to be the summer home of the royal family of Travancore. Wide vistas of tea, cardamom, rubber and coffee plantations interspersed with silver cascades, sculptural rocks, meadows and mist-cloaked hilltops make Peermede an unforgettable experience. The most delightful trekking trails complement the panoramic landscape. Air Cochin Airport is 200 Km while Madurai Airport, Tamilnadu is 140 Km. .
