Location :
Located in the Satpura ranges, Pachmarhi is an idyllic hill station in Madhya Pradesh. Pachmarhi is about 210 kilometres from Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh.

About Pachmarhi :
Pachmarhi is Madhya Pradesh's most verdant jewel, a place where Nature has found exquisite expression in a myriad enchanting ways. Each dawn at this lovely hill resort girdled by the Satpura ranges ushers in a day of tranquil beauty.

The valley, ravines and maze of gorges, sculpted in red sandstone by wind and weather aeons ago, add their own coloring to this palette of shades, and cascading waterfalls flash silver in the sunshine.

Forests here are the natural habitat of woodland birds and wild species like langur, sambar, Indian bison and leopard.Complementing the magnificence of Nature are the works of Man, for Pachmarhi is also an archaeological treasure house. Cave shelters in the Mahadeo hills contain an astonishing richness in rock paintings. Pachmarhi is truly a resort for all seasons. Nature and Man have together created a place of beauty, a world in itself.

Getting There :
Air : The nearest Airport is Bhopal (195km by road). Bhopal is connected from Delhi, Gwalior, Indore, Bombay, Raipur and Jabalpur
Rail : The nearest Railhead is Pipariya (54km ) on Mumbai- Howrah rail route via Itarsi. Itarsi is 60km away from Pachmarhi.
Road : Pachmarhi is connected by regular bus services with Bhopal, Indore, Nagpur, Hoshangabad, Chhindwara and Pipariya. The hill station lies on the Piparia-Matkuli- Pachamrhi road, 123 kms. from district head-quarter. M.P Tourism also operators regular coach services between Bhopal and Pachmarchi. Taxis are available at Pipariya.

Tourist Attractions :
Jatashankar an important rock formation is -a place sanctified by the Shaivite lore. The stones are indeed shaped like the mater hair of the great Hindu god Shiva, and inside a natural Cavern there is a stone formation like the hundred-headed divine snake Seshnag.

Catholic Church :
Built in 1892 by the British, it has stained glass windows and a cemetry attached to it, with graves dating from 1859, World War I and II.

Dhoopgarh :

The highest point in the Satpura range, with a beautiful view of the surrounding ranges, it is a very popular spot for viewing the sunset.

Pandav Caves :
As the name suggests, these caves are said to be associated with the Pandava brothers. Now protected monuments, these caves are excavated in a hill made of sandstone rock. These ancient dwellings are famous for having provided shelter to the Pandavas.

The Catholic Church :
The Catholic Church and the Christ Church are the architectural marvels worth seeing in Pachmarhi. Built in 1892 by the British, the Catholic Church is a mix of French and Irish architecture. Its Belgium stained - glass windows add rare attraction and beauty to the building. The Church has a cemetery attached to it with graves dating from 1859, World War I and II.

Bee Fall :
Situated only 3 km from the town, Bee fall ( now known as Jamuna Prapat ) is a spectacular fall in the stream which provides drinking water to Pachmarhi. You can walk up the perilous road or hired Jeeps can take you up to the place where you can have not only a glimpse of the fall from above, but also the beautiful scenery as well. The bathing pools here are very popular. There is half a kilometer pathway down to the fall. An ideal place to spent a day with family and friends.
