Nashik Travel Guide

Proximity to many holy temples and sites including the famous pilgrimage centre of Shirdi and a long tryst with India's sacred past, has made Nashik a confluence for the spiritually enlightened. The poets Rishi Valmiki, Mahakavi Kalidas and Bhavabhooti have paid rich tributes to Nashik in many of their works. A delightful town, usually bustling with fervent crowds, Nasik is a classic mélange of the past and the present. It paves way to many fascinating forts and royally graceful temples that possess an aura of exuberance. Today, Nashik is a bustling township with a blend of the ancient and the modern. Scattered across the city are numerous forts and majestic temples. Major Temples & Caves to visit are Sita Gupta Cave - according to the Ramayana , Sita, the deity of agriculture and wife of Rama was supposed to have been carried off to the island of Lanka by the evil king Ravana, Sundar Narayan Temple, Kala Rama and Kapaleswar Temple.
