350cc bikes in kits from the UK and assemble them in Chennai, India to
provide them for the use of Indian Army. Couple of years later the
company started manufacturing the 500cc Bullet. Bullet's sheer power, unmatched and unparalled stability, superior riding comfort and rugged good looks dominated the Indian roads. It became the dream choice of every motorcyclist in the country. The Indian Army and Police endorsed it. Royal Enfield entered into a strategic alliance with the Eicher Group in 1990. Later the company merged with it in 1994.
