Macchhili Jaisamandi
Macchhili Jaismandi is a very popular non-vegeterian
food among the people of Rajasthan. This is a lip smacking dish and very
easy to cook. It is prepared with fish, as the name goes - Macchhili. The
ingredients and method for the preparation is given in this section. Try out
yourself and get yummy with the taste of hot Macchhili Jaisamandi with rice.
Ingredients (Serves : 10)
- Fish
- 4 tsp: Oil
- Green chutney (All to taste)
- Fresh coriander leaves
- Fresh mint leaves
- Ginger
- Garlic
- Batter
- 250 gm: Clarified flour
- 2 Eggs
- Water and salt to taste
- Sauce
- 10 tsp: Fresh cream
- 2 tsp: Green chutney
- ½ tsp: Cumin seeds
- 2 tsp: Oil
- Salt to taste
Method
- First of all grind the mint leaves, ginger-garlic, coriander leaves
to a fine paste. This is green chutney. Next, cut the fish into smaller
pieces and slit open the fish in the centre. Take the green chutney,
already prepared, and fill it in the fish.
- Prepare the battar with egg, clarified flour, water and salt
accordingly. After the batter is ready, heat oil in frying pan.
- In the prepared batter, dip the fish. Then fry the fish slightly
(semi fry).
- Next, heat oil in a frying pan again and add cumin seeds to it. Cook
it till it starts crackling. Add fresh cream to it aling with green
chutney and salt.
- Cook the fish once again for few minutes. Garnish the Macchhili
Jaisamandi with ginger juliennes and fried mint leaves. Serve it hot
with rice.
