Teja Nidamanuru is an Indian-born cricketer who represents the Netherlands in international cricket. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler who can play as an all-rounder. He has also played for Auckland in New Zealand domestic cricket. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut for the Netherlands in 2022 and his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut in the same year. He has scored two centuries and two half-centuries in ODIs and has been part of the Netherlands squad for the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
Teja Nidamanuru was born on August 22, 1994, in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. He belongs to a cricket-loving family and started playing the game at a young age. His father, Anil Kumar Nidamanuru, is a businessman and his mother, Sujatha Nidamanuru, is a homemaker. He has a younger brother, Sai Teja Nidamanuru, who is also a cricketer and plays for Andhra Pradesh in domestic cricket.
Teja Nidamanuru is unmarried and lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Dutch. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from SRM University in Chennai, India. He is also a business development manager for a workflow management company, working alongside fellow Netherlands international Stephan Myburgh. He enjoys travelling, reading, and listening to music in his spare time.
Teja Nidamanuru started playing cricket at the age of six and joined the St. John's Cricket Academy in Hyderabad, India. He represented Andhra Pradesh at various age-group levels and was part of the India Under-19 squad that toured Australia in 2012. He made his first-class debut for Andhra Pradesh in the 2013–14 Ranji Trophy against Kerala and scored 24 runs in his only innings. He played four more first-class matches for Andhra Pradesh until 2015–16, scoring 118 runs at an average of 14.75.
In 2016, he moved to New Zealand to pursue his cricket career and joined the Auckland Cricket Academy. He impressed with his performances in club cricket and was selected for the Auckland A team. He made his List A debut for Auckland A against Canterbury A in the 2016–17 Ford Trophy and scored 32 runs off 25 balls. He also played two T20 matches for Auckland A in the same season.
He made his Twenty20 debut for Auckland in the 2017–18 Super Smash against Central Districts and scored 21 runs off 13 balls. In 2019, Teja Nidamanuru moved to the Netherlands and took up a position as player-coach at Utrecht-based Kampong Cricket Club. He later switched to Punjab Rotterdam and scored 104 runs off 42 balls in one game against VOC Rotterdam in the 2021 Dutch T20 Cup.
He qualified to play for the Netherlands through residency and was named in their ODI squad for their series against the West Indies in May 2022. He made his ODI debut on May 31, 2022, at Amstelveen and scored nine runs off eight balls as the Netherlands lost by seven wickets.
