Will Young is a New Zealand international cricketer who was born on 6 October 1995 in Masterton, New Zealand. He is a right-handed top-order batsman and an occasional right-arm off-break bowler. Young has played for New Zealand in all three formats of international cricket - Test, ODI, and T20I.
Young grew up in Masterton, a small town in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand. He started playing cricket at a young age and attended Wairarapa College, where he was a member of the school's first XI cricket team.
Young's father, Simon Young, was also a cricketer and played for Wellington in first-class cricket. His brother, Ben Young, is also a cricketer and plays for Northern Districts in first-class cricket.
Young is married to his wife, Lucy. They have a son together named Harry.
Young made his first-class debut for Wellington in 2014 at the age of 18. He impressed in his first season, scoring over 700 runs at an average of over 40.
In 2015, Young was selected for the New Zealand A team to tour India. He had a successful tour, scoring over 500 runs at an average of over 50.
Young made his international debut for New Zealand in a T20I match against Sri Lanka in January 2017. He made his ODI debut against England in February 2017 and his Test debut against Australia in December 2017.
