Shubman Gill is an Indian cricketer who plays as a right-handed opening batsman. He is considered one of the most promising young cricketers in the world. Gill is known for his elegant batting style and his ability to score consistently in all formats of the game.

Early Life and Career

Gill was born on September 8, 1999, in Fazilka, Punjab, India. He started playing cricket at a very young age and was encouraged by his father, who was a cricketer himself. Gill moved to Mohali at the age of eight to pursue his cricket career. He joined the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Academy and trained under the guidance of former Indian cricketer Paras Mhambrey.

Gill made his first-class debut for Punjab in December 2017. He scored a century in his debut match against Services. Gill also made his List A debut for Punjab in the same month. He scored a half-century in his debut match against Tamil Nadu.

International Career

Gill has played for Punjab in domestic cricket since 2017. He has also played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
